The Floyd’s Academy features hands-on training classes facilitated by Floyd’s National and Regional educators. Each one of our advanced education classes are designed to build your skills behind the chair. Whether you want to grow your skills with clippers and short hair or pick up your shears and work with longer lengths, we have a class for you!

Our foundational principles class for how to approach any haircut, including consultation best practices, tool talk, and technique fundamentals.

Skin Fade
This class sets you up for success with skin fades by reviewing consultation best practices, the difference between low, mid, and high fades, tool talk, and fading techniques.

Mid Length
This class covers cuts where the hair falls from mid-ear to the top of the shoulders, including consultation best practices, round vs. square layers, and how to customize the shape to the client’s needs.
