What is Floyd's 99 University?
Floyd’s University is a structured 90‑day development program for new barbers and stylists that combines classroom training with supervised floor experience. The university classes and in-shop training will be held in the Denver, CO metro area. The goal is to build strong technical skills, consistent client experience, and a solid foundation for a long‑term career at Floyd’s.
- Week 1: Full‑time classroom training at Headquarters
- Floyd’s history, culture, and values
- Floyd’s Five and client experience standards
- Service standards and core cutting system
- Fades, mid‑lengths, kids cuts, beards, waxing, treatments, grey blending, etc.
- Weeks 2–4:
- Mondays: Classroom at Floyd’s Headquarters (skill deep dives, reps on mannequins/models)
- Remaining days: Floor days at the Home Shop, working with real clients under supervision from Shop Leaders/technical trainers
- Training shops are in the Denver Metro area
- 30‑Day Evaluation
- Formal evaluation day at the end of Classroom Month
- Technical skills, timing, Floyd’s Five, and professionalism are assessed
- Graduate from a Junior Barber or Stylist to a Classic Barber or Stylist
- Mentor Month (Days 31–60)
- Learner works in their Home Shop with 1–2 assigned mentors
- Weekly check‑ins (with Mentor/Shop Leader) focus on:
- Technical refinement
- Client experience behaviors
- Add‑ons, product education, and rebooking
- Coaching Month (Days 61–90)
- Learner is more independent but receives structured coaching from the Shop Leader
- Weekly coaching focuses on:
- Consistent Floyd’s Five execution
- Service/retail metrics (headcount, add‑ons, rebooking)
- Building and retaining a core client base
- 90‑Day Review & Next Steps
- Final review at or near Day 90:

The Floyd’s 99 Barbershop University is designed for new or newly licensed barbers and stylists who are beginning their careers and want to build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to succeed in a busy barbershop environment.

The Classroom training will be conducted at Floyd’s Headquarters located in Greenwood Village, CO.
The in-shop training will be at Floyd’s Barbershops in the Denver Metro area.

How long is the Academy?
The Floyd’s University is a 90-day program.
- Week 1: Full‑time classroom training at Headquarters
- Weeks 2–4: Mondays in the classroom; Tuesdays – Fridays in the shops
- 30‑Day Evaluation. Graduate from a Junior Barber or Stylist to a Classic Barber or Stylist

What Happens After I Complete the Floyd’s 99 University?
The University is designed to help you build your skills and advance your career with Floyd’s.
You’ll join Floyd’s as a Junior Barber or Junior Stylist while participating in the program. After successfully completing the program and meeting the required skill and performance standards, you’ll have the opportunity to advance to a Classic Barber or Classic Stylist position at a Floyd’s shop.
